Music has always been an integral part of Derek’s life. His background includes television (Six years on the PTL Inspirational Network), touring, singing, recording, writing and arranging. He recorded on a major Christian label out of Nashville (Diadem) and was previously nominated for two Dove awards including Male Vocalist of the Year. He is a graduate of East Coast Bible College with a Biblical Studies degree.

He and his wife, Marlene, have had original songs on Grammy and Dove nominated projects, Bob Hope and Disney patriotic specials, and the Pentagon 9-11 Memorial Service one year later.
