Carrie Marshall has an amazing ability to wrap her heart and voice around a lyric, infusing each song she sings with a power and poignancy all her own. Whether singing her original songs or favorite pop, blues or jazz standards, Carrie delivers a musical punch you won't soon forget.
Carrie’s performance experiences include a variety of venues, from intimate coffeehouses and wine bars, to large convention centers with audiences of over 10,000. She toured with a band in the Boston region for over 10 years as lead vocalist and keyboardist before launching on her own with her debut CD in hand.
A subsequent move to Nashville brought Carrie to the hub of Music City, where she immediately began performing in songwriter’s nights around town, honing her skills as a writer, and doing vocal session work in recording studios. She had many opportunities to work with some incredibly talented instrumentalists and songwriters, including performing with hit songwriter, Tom Douglas.
Carrie’s songwriting has received various accolades, from recently winning 1st place at the North Carolina Songwriter’s Co-Op with her songs, “Queen City” and “Gone”. Her album “Redemption” takes listeners on a journey of struggle to hope and features such songs as “When Love Was Green”, placing in the semi-finals in BBC’s 2008 Songwriting Competition. Three other songs off of the album are signed to single song contracts with an L.A. publisher for television and film placement.
What Carrie loves best about performing and songwriting is being able to connect with listeners in an authentic way through music. Whether toes tap to the grooves or hearts melt to the romantic ballads, Carrie has a way of touching the soul. “My goal is to be able to meet people where they are.” Carrie states. “With each note I want audiences to forget me and get lost in the music itself.”
